Adaptive Utility for Real-world Advancement

Turning real progress into an RPG.

I built AURA to turn goals, habits, and useful skills into quests, levels, rewards, titles, and a character that changes with the person using it.

Current state: version 2 is working and I do not know of a functional fault in it. The next version will be a larger development pass, not a cosmetic patch. The low-contrast status text needs fixing and several systems still need more depth.

What AURA is

AURA is part companion and part game, with the game side kept firmly in front. It should adapt to a person's goals and behaviour instead of locking them into one route. The quests and character build then change to match what is actually happening.

The core systems

Attributes and skills

Individual skills feed into ten broader attributes: Vigor, Cognition, Presence, Resolve, Capability, Vocation, Stewardship, Fortitude, Discovery, and Vitality. Attribute levels then contribute to the overall player level.

Classes and jobs

After onboarding, AURA offers several real-world archetypes that fit the stated goals. One becomes the active direction, but it can be changed and does not lock away other content.

Quests

Most quests come from goals and observed behaviour. There is also a smaller hand-written library and an option to create quests manually. A self-chosen quest carries a little more reward and a matching increase in consequence.

Gold and titles

Gold is the main reward currency. Titles are meant for patterns and achievements worth remembering, such as steadily improving a wake-up time, rather than trivial actions.

Rewards and consequences

Rewards and consequences need similar weight. Success should feel worth the effort, but one missed task should not punish someone so heavily that abandoning the app becomes the easier option.

Hidden mastery

Visible skill levels stop at 100. Progress can carry on in the background and unlock titles, rewards, unusual quests, and mastery benefits while the level itself stays useful.

Next development pass

  1. Improve the contrast of secondary status text, including objective counters.
  2. Deepen quest creation, completion, reward, and consequence handling.
  3. Turn the attribute and skill model into a proper connected progression screen.
  4. Develop classes, Gold, titles, and Level 100 mastery into working systems.
  5. Prepare the build and installation route once the application is ready for its first full release.

What will be public

I can publish design notes, screenshots, release notes, installation instructions, and working builds here. A person's goals, behaviour records, quest history, and anything else created while using AURA stay private.
